A Brief Introduction of the BMW Motorrad Club HK

The BMW Motorrad Club Hong Kong (previously BMW Motorcycle Owner's Club) was formed by BMW Motorcycle owners and enthusiasts in June 2003. It was renamed to its current name in September 2007. The Club is a Member of the International Council of BMW Clubs in Germany, which is officially sanctioned and licensed by BMW AG. The International Council of BMW Clubs currently has nearly 300 Member Clubs with approximately 200,000 members around the world. We are a social and recreational society officially recognized under the Societies Ordinance of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, and the only official BMW motorcycle club in Hong Kong

The Club was also formed with the purpose of:

  1. promoting rider safety, road awareness and enhancement of riding skills;
  2. promote the enjoyment, sharing of goodwill and fellowship derived from owning a BMW motorcycle; and
  3. engaging in social, community and other events which are in harmony with the Club purpose as mentioned above.

The Club conducts scheduled rides around Hong Kong every fortnight and also holds regular monthly social meetings either at our registered office at BMW House, or at other informal locations around Hong Kong. Our monthly club social evenings allow the members to meet and enjoy the company of fellow riders off the bike.

The Club has long recognized the importance and benefits of good bike handling skills and continual rider training. We organize periodic Slow Ride and Track Rider Training days where our participating members are able to train and practice motorcycle handling skills at both low and high speeds, rider safety and situational awareness in the controlled environment of a secured location or race track facilities.

We organize overseas motorcycle touring trips at least once a year to allow members the chance to experience the fun and joy of long distance motorcycle touring. In addition to being a unique way to visit new places, it also provides a great opportunity to make new friends along the way. We have been touring with our BMW motorcycle sister clubs from Singapore, Malaysia as well as Thailand, and we are looking forward to being able to tour with more motorcycle clubs from other countries and regions.

In addition to our riding and other Club activities, social awareness is strongly emphasized, and the Club will often participate in various charity or fund-raising events, either individually, or in cooperation with other motorcycle clubs in Hong Kong. The Club is constantly working towards establishing a strong bond with the Hong Kong community to promote motorcycling and road safety.

Membership is open to all BMW motorcycle owners and BMW enthusiasts who share a common interest in the BMW marque, improving riding skills and promoting fun and safe riding in and around Hong Kong.
